Pedestrian suffers serious head injuries in crash

A pedestrian has been seriously injured in a crash involving a motorbike, police say.

The man, in his 60s, was taken to hospital after being hit by a blue Honda motorbike on the A6 Loughborough Road in Birstall, Leicestershire, on Saturday at 19:45 BST.

Leicestershire Police said the pedestrian had serious head and abdominal injuries and remains in a "critical but stable condition".

A man in his 50s, who was riding the motorbike, was not injured, the force said.

The force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is asking any witnesses or anyone who might have footage of the collision, to get in contact with them.

Police want to talk to witnesses, including motorists driving on the A6 and passengers who were exiting a bus opposite the Birstall MOT centre at the time of the incident.

Det Con Maddie Hayes said: “I would like anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police to come forward."
