A community of startups and entrepreneurs, Tribe Theory aims to provide startups and entrepreneurs travelling to Singapore an affordable place to stay

Are you a young startup or entrepreneur on a budget, busy building your business venture and need an affordable accommodation in Singapore?

Come to Tribe Theory’s venture hostel.

Tribe Theory is a space for you to explore and engage with like-minded people on the same entrepreneurial journey. It is a community of startups and entrepreneurs in the heart of Singapore. The aim is to provide startups and entrepreneurs travelling to Singapore an affordable place to stay.

The hostel is tucked away in the city-state’s heritage neighbourhood of Chinatown Ann Siang Hill, a few steps away from the Central Business District (CBD). You can book yourself a capsule bed to crash for a few nights for SGD30 (US$22.7) per night.

All rooms are mixed dorms with capsule beds and come equipped with air-conditioning and personal lockers. There are no ensuite rooms; toilets and shower facilities are communal.

Tribe Theory is an entrepreneur-centric hostel housed in the heritage shophouse of the oldest Chinese clan in Singapore.

Every brick and tile of this building, and of this neighbourhood, is seeped in the history and DNA of the entrepreneurial spirit. Its map will show you where conglomerates next door in the CBD began as startups in the heart of Singapore and grew into blue chip companies.

It is located a short three to five minutes walk from two different MRT Stations (Chinatown and Tanjong Pagar) on three different lines. Singapore’s most famous hawker and food centres – Maxwell Food Centre, Amoy Street Food Centre and Chinatown Food Street — are close by.

Tribe Theory also offers a workspace, where you can spend the day working on your venture. It has a communal kitchen and also offers a free breakfast every morning, which includes a free flow of coffee, tea, milk and juice.

To date, Tribe Theory has lodged over 500 global entrepreneurs from over 40 countries over its three-month pre-launch period.

Tribe Theory was founded by Vikram Bharati and is backed by venture builder and investor REAPRA.

The inspiration for Tribe Theory was born when Bharati spent two years backpacking around the world, where he traveled to over 50 countries in six continents and stayed in amazing hostels around the world. His vision is to build a global hotel brand which provides affordable yet soulful accommodation for young startups and entrepreneurs.

Prior to building Tribe Theory, Bharati was the head of venture capital investments at REAPRA where he made investments in early-stage ventures across Asia. Prior to that, he was a banker at JP Morgan.
