Relocation of informal settlers turns violent

Informal settlers clashed with police and demolition crews in Makati as around 86 families refused to be relocated.

According to reports, Makati City offered to relocate residents to a site in Laguna, give them assistance in going back to their provinces, or financial assistance of P24,240.

The land will be used for a multi-purpose hall and a covered basketball court, reports said.
