Brunei State Visit
Philippine President Benigno Simeon Aquino III is greeted by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah upon arrival at the Bandar Seri Begawan International Airport in Brunei Darussalam for Aquino's two-day State Visit. The two leaders are set to sign agreements on agriculture, shipping, sports and tourism. Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam were established in January 1984 when the Philippine consulate general in Bandar Seri Begawan was elevated to an embassy.

The President's two-day state visit to Brunei seeks to reinforce strong ties with Brunei. While in Brunei, Aquino will discuss cooperation on fighting transnational crimes and combating human and drug trafficking to further strengthen ties between the two members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN), as well as witness the signing of several memoranda of understanding on tourism, agriculture, shipping and ports, and sports development.
