Piers Morgan Sparks Furor Around Omid Scobie Book By Naming Royals Accused Of Commenting On Skin Color Of Harry & Meghan’s Son
Buckingham Palace is said to be “considering all options” over a royal race row that has escalated in the UK following an intervention from Piers Morgan.
On his TalkTV/Fox Nation show Piers Morgan Uncensored on Wednesday, Morgan named the two senior royals accused of making comments about the skin color of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie in a Dutch version of Omid Scobie’s book, Endgame.

The names of the royals were said to have been printed in error and journalist Scobie has denied ever identifying the individuals in writing. Dutch publisher Xander is investigating how the mistake occurred and has pulled copies of Scobie’s books from retailers.
Morgan said the British people had a “right to know” who was at the center of the allegations. He named them during a monologue on his show and shared a clip on his Twitter (now X) account, where he has 8.7M followers.
Most major UK publications have not followed suit in identifying the royals. Morgan said he was “outraged” that the press had kept the names under wraps. “Why should British people be barred from knowing what Dutch people know about OUR Royal Family?” he tweeted.
The former CNN presenter has accused Scobie of lying about not naming the royals. Scobie declined to comment when contacted by Deadline, but told ITV’s This Morning: “I have never submitted a book that had their names in it, so I can only talk about my version. I am obviously frustrated.”
The Mirror and The Daily Mail have reported that Buckingham Palace is considering options, including legal action over the scandal. The Palace declined to comment when contacted by Deadline.
Without naming the person they were accusing, Prince Harry and Markle originally made the allegations about the Archie skin color comments during their infamous Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021.
They alleged that an unidentified member of the monarchy raised “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.” The Sussexes ruled out Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh. In Endgame, Scobie claims that two royals — not one, as Meghan originally said — made remarks over Archie’s skin color.
Deadline has contacted TalkTV, Xander, and the Sussexes for comment.
