Another Fourth of July, another blowout celebration hosted by Ree Drummond and her family in their hometown of Pawhuska, Okla.

"It was a sweet, sweet day (and night!) in Pawhuska. 🇺🇸❤️," the Food Network star wrote on a video montage of the celebrations. "I had more and more fun as the night progressed, unfortunately, and Elaine Benes did eventually show up."

The reference to Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Seinfeld character pokes fun at Ree's silly dance moves during the party. She can be seen dancing with husband Ladd Drummond, and on stage with her daughter Paige, 24.

Ree's eldest daughter Alex, 27, shared her own photos from the day, many with guests dressed up in red, white and blue.

Ree and Ladd are also parents to sons Bryce, 21, Jamar, 21 and Todd, 20.

The July Fourth party, hosted by Ree's store and restaurant The Mercantile, is an annual event. “The tradition started small when the Drummond kids were still babies, but it's grown into a full-blown celebration,” Ree wrote in her Pioneer Woman blog in 2023.

The yearly bash now features live music, food, games and thousands of guests — in 2019, more than 10,000 people showed up in Pawhuska for the event according to Pioneer Woman star.

Another Drummond tradition is the fireworks show put on by Ree’s husband Ladd and his friends.

“Ladd and the cowboys pulled out all the stops," she wrote in a Pioneer Woman recap of the 2021 festivities in Pawhuska.

This year could have featured a few different colors in the firework show — Ree offered to let Alex, who is expecting her first child with husband Mauricio Scott, use the fireworks as a way to announce the sex of their baby. (Alex politely declined and shared an adorable reveal video featuring her Golden Retriever eating a cupcake.)

The last few years have featured music from The Dry Water Band. Ree posted an Instagram story of herself dancing along onstage on Independence Day in 2023.

One of Ree’s favorite parts of the celebration is, of course, the food. The Drummond family comes together to cook a huge barbecue with burgers, hot dogs and plenty of familiar Pioneer Woman recipes. In 2023, Alex posted a video of the barbecue spread showing Ree’s Best Baked Beans Ever, Fresh Corn Casserole and other favorites.

But the headlining dish for the annual Fourth of July meal isn’t one of Ree’s recipes — it’s Ina Garten’s Flag Cake from Barefoot Contessa Family Style.

“Ah, what can I say about Barefoot Contessa? I love her. Her recipes are real, simple, and abundant… just the way I like 'em.” Ree wrote in a Pioneer Woman blog post about the blueberry and raspberry-topped cake in May. “It's one of the most show-stopping cake recipes you could possibly cook for your 4th of July festivities.”

Ree's appreciation for all things Fourth of July is clear — the Pioneer Woman blog has a dedicated page full of recipes and other ideas for how to celebrate the holiday.

In 2021, Ree also highlighted the importance of bringing her kids back home for the holiday: “It's nice that no matter what the kids have going on, they still love to come home and experience their hometown on holidays like this."
