Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will deliver this year’s National Day Rally (NDR) speech on Sunday (19 August) at the Institute of Technical Education.

Lee will speak in Malay and Mandarin (6.45 pm to 7.30 pm) and English (8.15 pm to 9.30 pm).

The National Day Rally will be broadcast on local TV channels and radio stations. In addition, it will be live streamed on online channels such as the Prime Minister’s Office YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/pmosingapore) and Lee’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/leehsienloong).

You can also read live updates on the rally at Lee’s Facebook page and Twitter account (www.twitter.com/leehsienloong) as the speech is delivered.

At NDR 2017, which also took place at ITE, the Prime Minister addressed three broad topics: the importance of preschools, the war against diabetes and building a Smart Nation. According to a Blackbox Research survey, almost half of the Singaporeans polled were neutral about the speech.

While there has been no indication as to what Lee will address in this year’s Rally, recent hot button issues include the SingHealth cyberattack, relations with Malaysia and leadership succession.
