PM Lee Hsien Loong, Ho Ching to receive top honours from Brunei Sultan

SINGAPORE — Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his wife, Ho Ching, will receive top honours from Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah at a ceremony in Brunei Darussalam.

Lee will receive The Most Esteemed Family Order while Ho will receive The Most Distinguished Order of Paduka Seri Laila Jasa – First Class from the Sultan during the ceremony at the Istana Nurul Iman, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement on Thursday (14 July).

Lee is in Brunei from Thursday to Saturday to attend the Sultan’s 76th birthday celebrations.

Accompanying them are Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr Maliki Osman, as well as officials from the PMO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Communications and Information.

During his visit, Lee will have an audience with the Sultan, meet various Bruneian ministers, and visit the Singapore Armed Forces’ training facilities in Temburong.
