Portugal vs Czech Republic lineups: Predicted XIs, confirmed Euro 2024 team news and injuries today

Portugal will once again rely on Cristiano Ronaldo to provide the goals at Euro 2024, with tonight’s kick-off coming against Czech Republic in Leipzig.

Roberto Martinez is set to line the Selecao up in a 4-3-3 formation with Rafael Leao and Joao Felix competing to start on the left wing.

A few other decisions must also be made with Vitinha, Joao Neves and Ruben Neves all options to join Fulham’s Joao Palhinha and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes in midfield.

Veteran centre-back Pepe, 41, looks set to beat Goncalo Inacio in the heart of the defence. Raphael Guerreiro will sit out the Euros through injury.

Czech midfielder Michal Sadilek is another to be ruled out for the entire tournament, having injured his leg while riding his bike days before this game.

West Ham’s Tomas Soucek will start in midfield and Patrik Schick should provide the bulk of the firepower for a team without a huge amount of threat in the goals department.

Predicted Portugal XI: Costa; Cancelo, Pepe, Dias, Mendes; Fernandes, Palhinha, J. Neves; B. Silva, Ronaldo, Leao

Predicted Czech Republic XI: Stanek; Vitik, Holes, Hranac; Coufal, Soucek, Provod, Burak, D. Jurasek; Schick, Chytil
