Post Malone and Blake Shelton Debut New Song 'Somebody Pour Me a Drink' — Twice! — as CMA Fest Kicks Off in Nashville

The pair performed their latest collab during the Nissan Stadium show and a Spotify House gig at Shelton's bar Ole Red

Post Malone is continuing his run of country features while giving fans a taste of what he and Blake Shelton have in store!

On Thursday, June 6, the 28-year-old Grammy nominee popped up with Shelton, 47, for a surprise performance after Thomas Rhett's CMA Fest set at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville — marking their first go at their new track "Somebody Pour Me a Drink."

During the set, Malone performed his Morgan Wallet duet "I Had Some Help" — currently the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 — before talking about a forthcoming country LP and welcoming Shelton to the stage with him.

The track appeared to be a hit, with Shelton's wife Gwen Stefani sharing some footage of herself dancing to the duo's performance and the crowd cheering on her Instagram Stories.

After the inaugural performance of their new song, Malone and Shelton had another surprise in store and did it again later in the night during a Spotify House gig at Shelton's Broadway bar Ole Red. During the six-song set, Malone performed  "Sunflower" and "I Had Some Help," before welcoming Shelton up yet again.

The pair's microphones were on opposite sides of the stage, prompting Shelton to joke, "Could we be more far apart?" before they scooched in closer to one another. "Is this our first fight?" Malone added.

After Shelton jokingly claimed that he wrote his 2001 hit song "Austin" about the singer (whose real name is Austin Post), the pair played their forthcoming tune yet again with Stefani, 54, cheering them on.

"Let's hear it for our new adopted son in country music," Shelton said at the end of the performance.

Malone continued his set with a cover of George Strait's "Carrying Your Love with Me" and a cover of Vince Gill's "One More Last Chance," while having Shelton back on again for his track "Ol' Red," and the namesake of the bar.

"I'm so honored to be able to call you my friend," Malone told Shelton once he'd departed the stage.

"Somebody Pour Me a Drink," which was first teased in late May, comes amid Malone's latest run of country features which includes his chart-topping Wallen collab. He also recently appeared on Taylor Swift's track "Fortnight," bringing him to a career total of six No. 1 singles.

The "White Iverson" crooner also made his debut at the 2024 ACM Awards last month at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas — where he played a solo version of "I Had Some Help" as well as an unreleased track.

Per Billboard, Malone previously revealed he was working on a country record during an April Twitch live stream.

"Country record is coming. I keep singing a song that we made while I was in Nashville. It's so f---ing sick, but it's not out," he said, per the outlet.
