Princess Rajwa of Jordan made her first public appearance since announcing her pregnancy news at an important occasion.

The Jordanian royal family stepped out on June 9 for the national event commemorating King Abdullah's Silver Jubilee, marking 25 years of his reign. Princess Rajwa sat front row with her husband, Crown Prince Hussein, and parents-in-law, King Abdullah and Queen Rania, during the service that Hussein's younger siblings, Princess Iman, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem, also attended.

The event, complete with a military parade and flypast, was attended by around 9,000 people. Making the appearance extra special for Princess Rajwa, 30, and Crown Prince Hussein, 29, the festivities marked the couple's first joint outing since the Royal Hashemite Court announced that their family was expanding.

Rajwa and Hussein tied the knot in a wedding attended by Prince William, Kate Middleton and other royals from around the world in June 2023, and the court announced in April that Princess Rajwa was pregnant with her first child, due this summer.

The baby on the way will be the first grandchild for Queen Rania and King Abdullah, and a male child will enter the line of succession to the throne. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's constitution dictates that the throne is hereditary to the dynasty of King Abdullah Ibn Al-Hussein, passing in linear succession through male heirs.

If the baby is female, there will be no change to the line of succession. Crown Prince Hussein is heir to the throne and is currently followed by his brother Prince Hasheem, 19.

Regardless of sex, it's expected that the baby on the way will receive the titles of His/Her Royal Highness and prince/princess.

Princess Rajwa was glowing at King Abdullah's Silver Jubilee celebration and wore what might be her go-to maternity hue. The royal wore a long red dress with an embellished cape by Saudi Arabian label HONAYDA, showing support for a brand from her home country. The twisted draping of the dress showed off Rajwa's growing bump and repeated a shade that she reached for recently.

On June 1, the first anniversary of her wedding to Crown Prince Hussien, the Royal Hashemite Court released the first maternity photos of the princess. The photos showed Rajwa wearing a red pleated maxi dress by Alice + Olivia with gold jewelry, smiling outside as she cradled her bump.
