Premier League table 2022-23: Latest standings, results and fixtures for matchday 36

Liverpool are within one point of the Premier League’s top four.

Monday’s win over Leicester saw them continue their rapid rise up the Premier League table and leaving the Foxes looking destined for the Championship.

Manchester City are one win away from Premier League glory after Arsenal fell to a home defeat to Brighton.

Second-half goals from Julio Enciso, Deniz Undav and Pervis Estupinan all but ended the Gunners' hopes of a first title in 19 years and boosted their chances of qualifying for Europe for the first time in their history.

Earlier in the day, Ilkay Gundogan scored twice and assisted Erling Haaland to score in a 3-0 win at Everton. At the same time, Brentford beat a much-changed West Ham at the same time in a London derby.

The weekend action started at Leeds as Newcastle handed their top-four rivals a glimmer of hope by drawing at Elland Road.

Chelsea were then held to a frustrating 2-2 draw at home by Nottingham Forest, while Tottenham suffered a key defeat at Aston Villa and Southampton were relegated after losing to Fulham. Crystal Palace also saw off Bournemouth at Selhurst Park, while Manchester United gained a vital 2-0 victory over Wolves.

Newcastle and Brighton then make up their games in hand with a midweek meeting that will impact the Premier League table’s race for Europe.
