Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest son turned 10 over the summer, and a montage highlighting the style trick he picked up from his mom has gone viral on TikTok, in a clip viewed over 750,000 times.

"Catherine fixing George's hair when he was little," royal fan account TheWalesFamily5 wrote over throwback footage of Princess Kate, 42, brushing back Prince George’s bangs when he was a toddler. Footage flashed of Kate smoothing her son’s hair at the christening of Princess Charlotte, now 8, in 2015, Trooping the Colour in 2016, the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford later that summer and more.

The footage flashed forward to the present, and the overlaid text read, “Prince George now, making sure his hair is spotless.”

The video rolled to a candid moment where cameras caught George — now a pre-teen! — catching his reflection in a car window and fixing his hair at The Big Help Out during King Charles’ coronation weekend in May 2023. The clip cut to George pushing his hair back into just the right place while heading into church at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on Easter in 2022 and doing the same while leaving St. Mary Magdalene Church at Sandringham on Christmas Day in December.

“George may be too old for Catherine to adjust his hair but now she does the same with Louis,” one TikTokker wrote in a comment that’s been liked hundreds of times, referring to Prince William and Princess Kate’s youngest son Prince Louis, 5. Another added that Princess Diana “used to do this” with her sons Prince William and Prince Harry.

Christmas Day marked what proved to be Prince William and Princess Kate’s last public outing with their three kids before Kensington Palace announced on Jan. 17 that the Princess of Wales had “planned abdominal surgery” the day prior. On Monday, the palace announced that Princess Kate was discharged from the hospital and will continue to her recuperation at her home in Windsor.

“The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress," said the Monday statement from Kensington Palace. “The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided.

“The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well wishes they have received from around the world," it added.

PEOPLE understands that the issue was non-cancerous and that Prince William, 41, postponed public duties to support his wife during her recovery and care for their children. The Prince of Wales did not undertake official duties while Princess Kate was in the hospital and is not expected to during the early days of her home recovery.

“We know they are a very tight family unit, and he wants to be there for them,” Robert Hardman, author of The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy, exclusively tells PEOPLE in this week's cover story.

The Jan. 17 statement from Kensington Palace announcing that Kate underwent surgery said that she was expected to remain in hospital to 10 to 14 days and “based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”

While the Princess of Wales recovers privately, her father-in-law King Charles made a public exit from the London Clinic on Monday, three days after he had surgery for an enlarged prostate. The King, 75, gave a wave as he left the facility with Queen Camilla, in what's expected to be his only appearance for a few days. Buckingham Palace said the sovereign would take "a period of private recuperation" following the treatment.
