Princess Elisabeth of Belgium Is Going to Harvard This Fall

The heir to the Belgian throne, who turned 22 this past October, will attend Harvard University this fall to begin a two year Master's degree in public policy, the Belgian Royal Palace announced today. She is currently finishing up her bachelor's degree in History and Politics at the University of Oxford. Before, she studied at UWC Atlantic College in Wales, a favorite boarding school of royals, and she recently completed her year in Social and Military Sciences at the Royal Military Academy.
Princess Elisabeth, the eldest child of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, will be Queen of Belgium one day. In the past year, she's made more prominent appearances—attending Prince Christian's 18th birthday gala in Denmark, the royal wedding of Prince Hussein and Rajwa Al Saif, and the pre-coronation reception celebrating King Charles and Queen Camilla. And, she and her father recently hosted former President Barack Obama at Laeken Castle.
According to her official bio, "the Princess likes to spend time with her brothers Gabriel and Emmanuel and her sister Eléonore. She is [athletic] and enjoys, among other things, skiing, rowing and sailing. The Princess also enjoys walking and being in touch with nature."
She joins a short list of royals who have attended Harvard University, including King Frederik of Denmark, who studied there for a year, and Empress Masako of Japan, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics.
