Producing Director Jeff Melman Joins MTV’s ‘Finding Carter’

“Malcolm in the Middle” alum Jeff Melman has joined MTV’s “Finding Carter,” as a producing director and supervising producer, Variety has learned exclusively.

Melman has directed and produced some recent episodes of “Finding Carter,” which is close to wrapping the second half of its second season.

“Finding Carter,” created by Emily Silver, follows Carter (Kathryn Prescott), a teenage girl who thinks she has the perfect life until the police tell her she was abducted as a toddler and the woman she believes is her biological mother is actually her kidnapper. The drama revolves around her new life, as she returns to her real family who thought they had lost her, and navigates brand-new parents, a twin sister, high school and boys.

Melman’s other directing credits include “Two and a Half Men,” “Modern Family,” “Odd Mom Out,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Frasier,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Community” and “Grey’s Anatomy” for which he was nominated for a DGA Award. He was also nominated for two Emmys for his work as a producing director on “Malcolm in the Middle.” Melman is repped by APA.

“Finding Carter” is currently on MTV Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m.
