PUBG Mobile is getting a zombie mode in the version 2.8 update
Zombies will be sweeping across Erangel, Miramar, and Livik as part of PUBG Mobile's version 2.8 update from 7 September to 6 November.
PUBG Mobile will be getting some massive changes in its version 2.8 update on Thursday (7 September) as hordes of zombies will be sweeping the battlegrounds, adding new enemies, challenges, abilities, and items for players to unlock and explore as they battle the endless wave of undead.
From 7 September to 6 November, zombies will be sweeping across Erangel, Miramar, and Livik as the Aerolith has mutated the lab dedicated to its study into an abandoned wasteland loaded with abundant supplies and resources, which automatically grants those who enter a respawn card.
Deep in the Aerolith Lab and Outpost on these maps, players must prevent as many zombies from being absorbed by the Aerolith as possible. The more zombies are absorbed, the more powerful the Rage Berserker boss that spawns will be. However, players who can overcome this daunting challenge will be handsomely rewarded with a crate.
Aside from the Rage Berserker boss, players can also encounter three other variants of zombies, namely the regular Mutant, the shield-wielding Berserker, and the agile Reaper.
Defeating the zombies also come with their own rewards in the form of genetic materials, which can grant players a host of enhanced supernatural abilities.
These include the Mutation Gauntlets, which deal monstrous amounts of melee damage to go with a fierce Smash ability, and the razor-sharp Mutation Blade, which lets players to slash at enemies and also includes a Sprint ability.
Players can also hop aboard the Maglev Hoverboard, which can be acquired from the Lab, to traverse across the battlegrounds with ease.
Aside from the endless horde of zombies, PUBG Mobile's version 2.8 update also comes with significant enhancements to World of Wonder, including Creation Rating and a new Zombie PvE template, alongside a new Metro Royale Season and Cycle 5 Season 14.
Additionally, Cycle 5 Season 14 is updated with new content, rewards and cosmetics to unlock and enjoy, and the latest Metro Royale Chapter 16 will bring a new Dagger melee weapon and collectibles.
PUBG Mobile has also teased two upcoming collaborations with one of the globe’s biggest restaurant chains and a world-renowned performance car brand. There will also be a surprise coming in early October in celebration of Halloween.
