Quake magnitude 5.7 strikes south-southeast of Japan, depth 10 km - USGS

LONDON (Reuters) - An earth tremor of magnitude 5.7 struck 185 km (115 miles) south-southeast of Japan's Izu islands on Saturday, the United States Geological Survey said. The USGS at first put the quake at 6.1, but later revised it to a weaker reading. The tremor was at a shallow depth of 10 km.
