Queen Victoria bust spattered with porridge and jam during protest at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow
Two women have been charged following a protest at a Glasgow museum that saw porridge and jam poured on a bust of Queen Victoria.
The plinth of the statue was also vandalised during the incident at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on Sunday.
Climate campaign group This Is Rigged said protesters staged a demonstration to raise awareness about rising food insecurity across the country.
In a statement, the group said: "We refuse to be dragged back to the Victorian era. Diseases such as rickets which once haunted Victorian slums are now on a sharp rise in Scotland, with 356 diagnoses in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area last year."
This Is Rigged is calling on the Scottish government to implement a community food hub per every 500 households in Scotland.
The group's ongoing campaign is also urging supermarkets to slash the cost of baby formula to March 2021 prices.

Police Scotland said two women, aged 23 and 30, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident at the popular museum.
The suspects have been released on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.
A force spokesperson added: "A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
