Raipur: Maoists attack public broadcasting centre, kill 3 paramilitary troopers

Maoists attacked a public broadcasting centre in Raipur and killed three paramilitary troopers stationed there. The rebels laid ambush in the wee hours of Sunday at a local centre of Doordarshan in Bastar region, where they killed three paramilitary troopers and injured another. The attack was so sudden that most of the troopers did not get time to retaliate and thus suffered heavy losses. None of the Maoists have been reported to be injured or dead so far. Talking to reporters, commandant of the 4th battalion of the paramilitary Chhattisgarh Armed Force, Pravir Das, gave out the details of the attack. The police are investigating into the matter and are expected to be running counter operations in the area soon.
