Ree Drummond’s Daughter Alex Gives an Update on Her Pregnancy and Shares Her First 'Bump Pic'
“I feel like a new woman," said Alex Drummond, who experienced nausea in her first trimester.
Alex Drummond is finally out of the woods after a rough bout of nausea in her first trimester of pregnancy.
On Wednesday, July 10, Ree Drummond’s eldest daughter shared a health update with her followers, including her first "bump” photo.
“I took this yesterday, my first official ‘bump’ pic lol! This week is the first week I’ve really noticed it,” Alex, 27, wrote on her Instagram Stories. “Baby girl is the size of an 🍏.”

Alex DrummondIn June, Alex and her husband, Mauricio Scott, announced that they are expecting their first child. But it hasn’t been smooth sailing symptoms-wise for the mom-to-be. In a series of Instagram videos, Alex detailed how she had nausea that lasted all day long.
The discomfort was so bad that Alex said she “didn't think I was gonna make it through, but here we are.” Even small chores and errands were difficult for her.

Alex Drummond“I finally feel the will and the power inside to actually accomplish something,” she said. “Mauricio and I went to the grocery store for literally the first time of pregnancy.”
Luckily, now that she is in her second trimester at 15 weeks pregnant, “I feel like a new woman," she said, "things have really turned around in the last week or so, and I feel so much better."
“I feel like I've hit a point where I'm living my best second trimester life and officially out of the thick of the nausea,” she added.
In her Instagram Q&A, Alex also shared that she's “curious” to see how her Golden Retriever George will adjust to the “lack of attention” that comes with having a newborn in the house.
“Mauricio and I say that we're gonna try to like still love on him and you know, do all the things, but I know that it'll, it's obviously gonna be a different dynamic,” she said. “He's not gonna be our first born only child anymore, right?”
George has been “really gentle” around their friends’ babies, so Alex isn’t worried. “I think he will do well,” she added.
Alex and Mauricio’s pup played the biggest role during their intimate sex reveal.
“We’re having a……🤭” Alex teased in the caption of their joint Instagram post. Throughout the adorable video, Mauricio fed George a cupcake filled with either blue or pink frosting. Once George got to the middle, the couple beamed with happiness.
“It’s a girl!” Alex exclaimed as she looked at the pink frosting and kissed her husband.
“Hopefully George loves his little sister half as much as he loved those cupcakes!” she continued in the caption of the post.
In June, Ree opened up to PEOPLE about the big news and shared what she thought the sex of her first grandchild would be. Spoiler alert: She was wrong.
"I feel like it's a boy, but then again, I have a 50-50 chance of being right,” she said at the time.
She also spoke about her reaction to the initial baby news. “Gosh, it feels totally different than I thought it would feel,” she admitted. “Since we just kind of became empty-nesters, Ladd and I feel like we just finished raising our kids — not even finished! A couple of them are in college, so we're still raising our kids.”
“We weren't necessarily in a big rush to enter the grandparent stage,” Ree added with a laugh. “I thought when I heard the news eventually, whenever that would be, that I would feel more, ‘Oh no, here it comes.’ But instead, what I think about most is — this is my honest answer — just how happy I am for my daughter and her husband.”
