Regina police investigation deems woman's death non-criminal after finding her body in Al Ritchie neighborhood

Regina Police say investigation has revealed no criminality was involved in a woman's death after her body was found in the Al Ritchie neighbourhood on Sunday.

Patrol members were dispatched to the area of 15th Avenue and Wallace Street at 2:47 p.m CST on Sunday, according to a news release from the Regina Police Service. Police remained at the scene of a death investigation Monday morning.

On Sunday, police initially said they were gathering information on a serious incident.

Officers were spotted searching garbage bins in the area and a forensic van was sent to the scene.

Two police cruisers remained at the scene on Monday, with police tape blocking off an alley way.

Police say an autopsy revealed the woman's death was not criminal in nature.

Regina police said the woman's name will not be released.
