Hotel Jen Tanglin’s 45 Million Makeover Is For the Art-Lover
There is a new hotel in town. Fresh from its $45 million makeover, Hotel Jen Tanglin boasts new guest rooms, all-day dining, and a unique Heart Map, a hand-drawn map designed to help guests discover the city, to be relaunched in late-January next year. Best of all, it’s conveniently located near the bustling Orchard Road and our UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural)-certified Botanical Gardens.
Hotel Jen Tanglin, previously known as Traders Hotel, is a part of nine other Hotel Jen properties under the Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited across Asia Pacific. While still attracting the business and leisure tourists, it now reflects a contemporary design that features the works of Singapore artists, both in their hotel rooms and in their event spaces.
Rooms are designed with four Singaporean themes, which are the bicycle, orchid, goldfish, and shophouse. These were curated by a group of Singapore artisans. In addition, Hotel Jen Tanglin also supports local startups such as Nomad the Gallant, which specialises in the production and sale of local coffee blends, and FIN, which specialises in producing simple and well-crafted goods.
One thing special about Hotel Jen Tanglin is that its unique sense of brand identity really permeates across all levels of the hotel experience. From the moment one steps through the doors of the hotel, one is greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff, and small touches meant to anticipate the needs of the modern traveller. For example, fruit-infused water and mobile charging stations are conveniently located throughout the hotel.
Its highly-customisable thermostat is also nothing to scoff at. While other hotels have rooms which are either too hot or too cold, Hotel Jen Tanglin’s thermostat allows you to adjust the temperature to just the temperature you like. Forgot your two pin plug or your travel adapter? No problem! Hotel Jen Tanglin’s rooms are fully equipped with universal plugs and USB ports that allow you to charge your phone whenever and wherever you are.
Travellers will also appreciate the fast and free Wi-Fi that is available seamlessly and conveniently everywhere you go (except perhaps the lifts, of course). For those with an adventurous spirit, Hotel Jen Tanglin has also thoughtfully provided the rental of four Tokyobikes and even GoPro cameras – free of charge for as long as you remain a guest of the hotel (memory cards available for a price upon request).
Hotel Jen Tanglin is for travellers who are looking for the complete experience which will not burn a hole in your pocket. It has the best of both worlds, as it is near enough to the action of the city, and yet, still a little away from the hustle and bustle of Orchard Road. This is where one can kick back and relax in the comfort and pampering of both the environment and its people.
For a limited time only, travellers who want the best deals for their stay can check out their website for offers.
In addition, they have recently introduced a “Super Sunday Brunch” at J65, their new all-day dining restaurant. A wide variety of mouth watering dishes such as a fresh 18 kg whole tuna, both fresh and smoked salmon, and a 25kg signature Chicago bull roast beef leg with traditional sides, porcini reduction and truffle sauce are painstakingly showcased – truly a feast for the kings.
They also have the freshest Fin de Claire oysters, tiger prawns, Boston lobster, and baby crayfish you have ever tasted, served on a buffet line with a range of traditional condiments such as Ponzu dressing, shallot vinegar, and remoulade sauce. Ever mindful of their customers’ needs, J65 also offers customers the option of washing down all these goodness with a free flow of champagne, wine and beer. (Highly recommended!)
