Rescue made at downtown Windsor high-rise apartment

A rescue has been made at a high-rise apartment building in downtown Windsor.

The person was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

The fire at 920 Ouellette Avenue was first reported by Windsor Fire & Rescue just before 8 a.m. on their X account, formerly known as Twitter.

It was contained to one unit on the 17th floor, according to fire officials.

The building is located between Erie Street and Elliott Street.

Fire officials said the blaze is now out and crews are ventilating parts of the complex.

The cause is still unknown at this time.
