Ricki Lake Shares Inside Look as She Gets Ready in Sexy Slip Dress: ‘Feeling Glamorous’

The former daytime television host recently opened up to PEOPLE about embracing her 50s

Ricki Lake is loving the skin she’s in!

“Feeling…glamorous✨,” the former daytime television host captioned an Instagram carousel on Wednesday, June 5.

In the photos, Lake poses as she sits in what appears to be a fancy hotel room as her glam squad gets her ready for the day. She’s all smiles in each image, with the first showing her hair being curled as she holds a NARS makeup palette.

The Hairspray alum rocks a dark and smokey eye while wearing a black silk slip dress.

As the pictures progress, Lake shows off her final wardrobe look — a black short-sleeved top with flirty shoulder ruffles and brown suede bottoms. Each photograph also includes a member of her glam team working to make her look and feel her best.

Many in her comment section commended her confidence.

“​​Please whatever you do, do not dye your hair. You look incredible,” one person wrote, complimenting her crown of gray tresses.

Another added, “Ricki your confidence and natural hair color has you oozing with gorgeousness!”

Lake recently spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about embracing life in her 50s at the Community Access Gala in New York City on May 9.

“It's so funny that because when you're in your 50s, you're supposed to be going sort of down, it's all downhill from here,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “I feel the opposite, I feel the healthiest I've ever felt, the fittest and I have a beautiful partner that I share my life with. I pinch myself every day.”

She also shared a bit of advice for others as she’s stepped into a new chapter into her life.

“Love yourself first above everything else,” Lake said. “Like honestly, come to a place of real self love and self acceptance and I think good things come from that.”

The day prior, she did a fashionable flashback by wearing the very same black and white mini dress that she first wore to her The Business of Being Born world premiere in New York City in 2007.

"Oh, this old thing?? Just had it hanging around 🥰 Originally wore this dress to the Business of Being Born world premiere in 2007 and now here I am wearing it again in 2024!" Lake captioned a May 8 Instagram carousel.

Her mostly white sleeveless number featured a floral black embroidered detail across her chest.

The media personality added a pair of black pumps to finish her look.

After losing over 30 lbs., Lake proudly showed off her weight loss results in March by doing another double take — this time wearing a mini black leather skirt and turtleneck sweater that she paired with heeled knee-high boots. 

The outfit was originally worn in December 2011.

"Same outfit 13 years ago apart. Dec 2011 (just after I did DWTS) and now. #thisis55 #allnatural #healthy #happy #proud," she wrote in her social media caption.
