Riverdale has finally given fans a look at its seventh and final instalment following last season's bonkers twist.

The CW has released a first trailer for the show's final chapter. After Percival's curse and Cheryl's efforts to keep the comet away from Riverdale, a supernatural shift saw the witch and the rest of the gang being sent back in time.

The clip confirms Betty, Archie and their pals are living their best lives in 1955 with no memory whatsoever of their relationships in the present.

Cole Sprouse's Jughead is the only character who's aware that something is amiss. He soon realises they need to get back and tries to convince his friends, but will they listen?

"We need to get back 67 years ago. but in the future," Jughead passionately says in the trailer for Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's series.

The dynamics between the show's characters have all changed significantly, introducing couples we didn't see coming (we're looking at you, Cheryl and Archie) and new alliances.

But the showrunner, also known for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and the Pretty Little Liars reboot, assured Riverdale's heroes retain some form of "emotional memory" (via Decider).

In the trailer, you can spot Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) secretly lusting over Toni (Vanessa Morgan), so we know things will sort themselves out in the end. Sure, the characters have to remember what they've been through first, but it seems that Jughead won't be alone in his "back to the future" mission for very long.

Riverdale season 7 premieres on The CW on March 29, with episodes airing weekly up to August 23. In the UK, you can stream via Netflix.
