Roger Kwok says viewership ratings are no longer important

29 Jul – With his latest drama "Black Heart White Soul" receiving an average 25 viewership rating points in its premiere week, Roger Kwok recently expressed that the points no longer matter nowadays.

According to Singtao News, the actor, who plays a wheelchair-bound lawyer in the new series, said that he has no confidence that the series will reach high ratings like his 2003 hit series, "Square Pegs".

"That's impossible these days. I don't think we will be able to get 40 to 50 rating points again like we used to," said the actor. "I think rating points don't mean much now. It's more important to make sure that people watch television!"

Roger also admitted that recent TVB dramas have not been as good as they were in previous years, saying that there aren't a lot of series that managed to steal his attention for more than ten minutes.

"TVB dramas in recent years lack good writing and high quality production. I am also a TV fan and would usually spend ten minutes on a show to determine whether or not I like it," said the actor, though added that he managed to watch most of Bosco Wong's "The Ultimate Addiction".
