Ronda Rousey made her surprise debut for Ring of Honor this week, teaming with Marina Shafir to defeat Athena and Billie Starkz.

It was Rousey's first televised wrestling appearance since she took on Shayna Baszler in what would be her final WWE match at SummerSlam in August.

With Ring of Honor basically being AEW's sister promotion, many fans have wondered if Rousey will soon become All Elite, after her impressive ROH debut.

Speaking at the media scrum after Full Gear last Saturday (November 18), AEW CEO Tony Khan provided some clarity on Rousey's contract status saying (via Wrestling Observer): "She's not signed but we had a great conversation.

"It came about, of course, there was some unfinished business, they had that match and I thought it would be great for our fans to settle it in the ring."

He continued: "Ronda was happy to come here and she was great. The crowd was really excited to see her and it was a great match. We'd love to have her back sometime."

Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer also reported that Rousey's ROH appearance was a "one-shot deal" and she's unlikely to commit to signing with a wrestling promotion full-time.

"There's a reason that Ronda wanted to finish. It's a family reason," he added.

"She didn't leave WWE to go to AEW. Stranger things have happened but certainly the idea when she left WWE was that she was done with wrestling and she's moving on to the next stage of her life."

Prior to appearing on ROH, Rousey also teamed with Shafir for LA-based promotion Wrestling Revolver.

Outside of wrestling Rousey is set to release her second autobiography Our Fight on April 4, 2024.

In a statement to People announcing the book last month, Rousey said: "I’ve been silent the last few years because there was more to say than could ever be relayed in an interview.

"Our Fight is everything I’ve wished I could fit into a headline but just couldn’t. My story in my words. All the answers I needed years to give succinctly."
