‘The Rookie’ Fans Are Heartbroken After Jenna Dewan Reveals Devastating News
Ahead of expanding her family with the impending birth of her third child, Jenna Dewan is saying goodbye to a furry member of her clan.
On May 29, The Rookie star went on Instagram to announce her beloved dog Meeka died at the age of 18. To commemorate how much the pet meant to her, Jenna posted photos and videos documenting Meeka's life throughout the years, including with her kids Everly and Callum. Jenna also honored the beloved dog's presence in her life by penning a heartbreaking tribute over how muchshe'll miss Meeka.
"Yesterday I had to say one of the hardest goodbyes as my first baby, Meeka, crossed over the rainbow bridge 🕊️," she emotionally captioned the post. "Meeka — you and I have had more eras than TS... You showed me I could become a mother, and then was by my side as I became one for the first time with Evie... You have been with me to locations all around the world and also sat by my side during a global pandemic quarantine postpartum with Callum. You were the queen diva, quietly ruling the house and I will never be able to express how much I will miss you."
"You were the biggest gift and I am grateful I can still feel you with me," she added. "Thank you for giving us the most peaceful crossing over we will never forget... I love you so much and even though my heart is broken to lose you in the physical, I know you will always be around and watching over all of us and especially ushering in this new soul 🥹❤️."
Shortly after Jenna publicly announced her heartbreak over losing Meeka, her fiancé Steve Kazee shared his support in the comments. "🤍," he simply wrote to comfort his partner.
What's more, fans saw Jenna's pain and rushed to her side to send condolences.
"Honey my heart is with you. Meeka is your angel, still. Sending you so much love," one person wrote. "So very sorry for your loss. You're never prepared for it. Run In Paradise Meeka," another penned. "Our fur babies become part of our souls. ❤️ I pray for peace and comfort during this difficult time. My wish for you all that when you are ready, you will adopt another fur baby in her memory," a different follower added.
Although Jenna is grieving over Meeka's death, hopefully her other dogs Wylie, Cosmo and Stella will provide some comfort through this difficult time. Jenna and Steve also have dealt with the loss of a pet before, with the death of their dog Violet Mae in July 2021.
