The Rookie's future has been revealed, and the 'cop cuties' will be back 'on duty' for season 7.

According to TVLine, ABC has renewed the police series after a successful sixth season. Despite the array of dramas showcased on ABC, The Rookie has cemented a solid third place in viewership.

Though currently on a break until April 30, The Rookie has four episodes left to air, and cast member Eric Winter (who plays Tim Bradford) has teased a "big" season finale. "We always throw everything into a finale," he promised.

Winter also discussed the upcoming dynamics between Tim and Lucy Chen (played by Melissa O'Neil).

"There are a lot of reveals, and as far as Tim and Lucy," he shared, "they get some fun stuff together" involving "another great action sequence".

"Everybody's out for the team and supporting each other, and it ends in a really nice way. And as far as Tim and Lucy, it leaves a nice sort of, I wouldn't say closure or a guarantee of anything, but it leaves it in a place where there's stuff to talk about".

The Rookie airs on ABC in the US and airs on Sky Witness in the UK. It can also be streamed on NOW.
