RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under season 3 episode 5 spoilers follow.

RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under is currently airing its third season, and the latest episode featured a first for the franchise... although it's not likely to be one the competing queens are proud of.

The latest episode featured the classic 'reading challenge,' in which the queens take it in turns to throw some barbed insults at their fellow contestants, whilst wearing some (usually silly) glasses. As a mini-challenge, the winner of the non-UK versions gets some money and/or sponsored products, and usually gets to decide teams for the maxi-challenge.

While the reading challenge usually provides some of the funniest quotes from a season, the Down Under season 3 queens were so bad at it that RuPaul decided to award the win to Ben, a member of the Pit Crew who's job was to stand there and hold the glasses on a pillow...

The queens took it in good humour and clapped for Ben's win, with Isis Avis Loren acknowledging how bad the challenge was in a confessional, stating: "Ben has won, and rightly so. Sorry, Ru!"

Ben did indeed win a $2,500 gift card from (and possibly for?) an Australian biodegradable glitter company, and was tasked with sorting the queens into two groups for the maxi-challenge.

"If there's one person in the group I don't wanna be paired with, it's Bumpa [Love]," said contestant Ashley Madison in a confessional.

She was indeed paired with Bumpa, who then eliminated her in a lip-sync after they both ended up in the bottom.

RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under drops new episodes on BBC Three and iPlayer at 9pm on Fridays, streams on WOW Presents Plus in the US and most territories, and airs on TVNZ2 and Stan in New Zealand and Australia, respectively.
