RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15 finale spoilers follow.

RuPaul’s Drag Race legend Stacy Layne Matthews has been admitted to hospital, with representatives for the star confirming the news via her Facebook account.

The drag queen appeared on the third season of the show, eventually placing eighth, and posted on Wednesday (April 12) to reveal they had been hospitalised, albeit without revealing the cause.

“Yesterday Stacy was admitted into the Hospital. I'm asking everyone to please lift her name in Prayer and if you do not Pray, I'm asking that you please send positive vibes her way,” read the post.

Stacy subsequently posted an update on her Instagram account, writing: “Thank you for all the well wishes and to those who sent donations. Thank you to those who have been patient with me.

“I’m just trying to get back to my old self so I can get back [to] entertaining you guys,” she added. “21 years I have been an entertainer and I’m not going to let a few setbacks stop me from doing what I love. I love you all and thank you again. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.”

Drag Race crowned its winner for the 15th season earlier today (April 15), with Sasha Colby prevailing over Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Luxx Noir London and Anetra in a hotly-contested final.

“This goes to every trans person, past, present, and future, because we are not going anywhere” she said as she was handed the winner’s sceptre, before saying backstage.

“I am America's next drag superstar. Thank you all so much to the fans, my family, my friends, everybody who hashtagged #TeamSashaColby. This is for you all. I love you so much.”
