RuPaul's Drag Race spoilers follow.

After three months, 16 episodes, plenty of shady comments and a big controversy about MTV-mandated episode lengths, RuPaul's Drag Race has crowned the winner of its 15th US season.

Luxx Noir London, Anetra, Sasha Colby and Mistress Isabelle Brooks battled it out for the crown, with Sasha Colby emerging victorious.

The queens had to perform an original track in front of a large live audience in Los Angeles, before Sasha and Anetra took part in one final lip-sync, to Amii Stewart's version of 'Knock on Wood'.

"This goes to every trans person, past, present, and future," Sasha said as she was handed the sceptre by last season's winner, Willow Pill, "because we are not going anywhere".

On multiple occasions, the episode also touched on the newly enacted laws banning drag shows in America and called for viewers to donate to the UCLA Drag Defense Fund.

In a backstage video posted to the show's official Twitter account, an emotional Sasha said: "I am America's next drag superstar. Thank you all so much to the fans, my family, my friends, everybody who hashtagged #TeamSashaColby.

"This is for you all. I love you so much."

You don't have to worry about Drag Race being off your screens for too long, as All Stars season 8 begins on May 12 on Paramount+ in the US and WOW Presents Plus in the UK. Before then, season 3 of Drag Race España begins tomorrow (April 16).

There's also Drag Race UK series 5, UK vs the World series 2, Drag Race Down Under season 3 and Global All-Stars season 1 on the horizon — with all but the latter expected to be on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three in the UK.
