“RuPaul's Drag Race” star Brita falls on stage during Pride performance: 'I thought it was hilarious'

"I didn't realize the size of the drop from the main stage to the extended stage," the season 12 star tells EW after taking a tumble during a Nicki Minaj song.

Brita might've fallen on stage during a recent performance, but the RuPaul's Drag Race season 12 star isn't down for the count this Pride season.

After falling forward in the middle of a Nicki Minaj number at Central Alabama Pride's Pride Fest over the weekend, the New York City–based queen tells Entertainment Weekly via email that she wasn't injured — and even has a good sense of humor about the situation.

"I thought it was hilarious. During these Pride events, we don't always get to see the stage before we perform on it, we just go out there and hope for the best," Brita explains. "I didn't realize the size of the drop from the main stage to the extended stage/catwalk, so 'Scarlet took a tumble,' but I handled it well and kept going. Pride, baby! We got to do what we gotta do to spread the queer joy!"

In the video above, Brita — who placed ninth on Drag Race season 12 in 2020 — dances across the stage to Minaj's 2010 Pink Friday song "Did It On'em" and falls onto the stage on her front side. The audience gasps as she goes down, but she continues performing through the number.

Other performers that were scheduled to be at Central Alabama Pride's Pride Fest include Drag Race stars Gottmik, Angeria Paris VanMicheals, and Mrs. Kasha Davis.

Brita's light spill comes one month after her Drag Race sister Shannel — the first-ever queen to sashay into the Werk Room back on season 1 in 2009 — mounted another franchise-first achievement when she became the first queen to accidentally fall off the Drag Race Main Stage during the All Stars 9 premiere in May.
