Rupert Murdoch marries for fifth time to Elena Zhukova at California vineyard
Media mogul Rupert Murdoch tied the knot with Elena Zhukova over the weekend at his vineyard in California, The Associated Press (AP) reported.
Murdoch, 93, and Zhukova, a 67-year-old retired molecular biologist, were married in a ceremony at Murdoch’s vineyard estate in Bel Air, Calif., on Saturday, the AP reported, citing his corporation, News Corp.
The couple, who began dating last year, announced their engagement in March.
Zhukova was previously married to Alexander Zhukov, a billionaire energy investor and Russian politician. The two had a daughter, Dasha, who was previously married to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, the AP reported.
Murdoch, who has been married and divorced four times, was most recently married to model and actor Jerry Hall. The two were married in 2016 and divorced in 2022.
In March of last year, Murdoch announced he was engaged to Ann Lesley Smith, a former model, but called off the engagement a month later.
Last fall, the mogul ceded control of his multibillion-dollar media empire, including News Corp and Fox. Corp, to his eldest son, Lachlan, who is now the sole chair of News Corp and CEO and executive chair of Fox Corporation.
Murdoch transitioned into a new role as chair emeritus for both companies.
