Russia has issued a stern warning to the U.S., the UK, and the EU, cautioning that any aggressive actions against Crimea would lead to retaliatory strikes, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson  Maria Zakharova said on May 3.

"I would like to once again warn Washington, London, Brussels that any aggressive actions against Crimea are not only doomed to failure but will also prompt devastating retaliatory strikes," Zakharova stated.

This warning comes amid heightened tensions following recent incidents in Crimea. Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the UN, Serhiy Kyslytsia, had previously alluded to potential actions against the Crimean Bridge in 2024.

Significant military impact was noted when Ukraine struck a Russian military airfield in Dzhankoy, Crimea, with ATACMS missiles on April 30. According to a report by the New York Times, the strike destroyed Russian S-300 and S-400 air defense systems.

The VChK-OGPU project reported on May 2 that these strikes caused considerable damage and inflicted casualties on Russian military positions at two critical locations.

Stationed at the Dzhankoy airfield were Russia's 39th Helicopter Aviation Regiment of the 27th Mixed Aviation Division, along with four air defense command posts of the Southern Military District of the Russian Defense Ministry and three aviation squadrons.
