Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes 'split after she found messages between him and another woman'

Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes separated after she discovered messages between him and another woman, it has been reported.

According to the Sun, the discovery on a computer led to the television presenters ending their 14-year marriage.

Holmes and Langsford, who both formerly presented This Morning, have one son named Jack, born in 2002. They confirmed their divorce last month. Holmes also has three other children from previous relationships.

Langsford has extended her leave from Loose Women due to her divorce from the GB News anchor, who has been seen with another female companion recently.

Holmes reportedly took his friend to Center Parcs and to see Manchester United play, although it has not been confirmed if this was the same woman involved in the messages.

A source told The Sun: “Ruth was completely taken by surprise when she saw the messages.

"She had no idea what had been going on between them. She was devastated.

“Not only was she very upset but she was also angry.”

In the wake of their split, an interview from last year has surfaced in which Holmes revealed he "pined" to return to his native Northern Ireland, but Langsford "wouldn't go."

Speaking to Kaye Adams for her How to be 60 podcast, Belfast-born Holmes admitted last year: “I've always pined to go back to Belfast, because that's what I associate with company and friendship and craic.”

It has been reported that Holmes will address all rumours when he completes a “frank” interview on GB News.

Langsford’s representatives have said they do not wish to comment.

Holmes’s representatives have also been approached for comment.
