RWS to welcome two new luxury hotels

Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) will open two luxury hotels, the Beach Villas and Equarius Hotel (pictured), this coming Thursday.

The new hotels will complement the integrated resort's four existing hotels, the Hotel Michael, Crockfords Tower, Festive Hotel and Hard Rock Hotel Singapore. It is also part of the final development phase of RWS, almost two years after it opened on 14 February 2010.

About S$600 million has been invested in the construction of the West Zone, the final stage of RWS, which comprises the new hotels, a destination spa, water theme park and Marine Life Park.

Located within Sentosa's rich flora and bordered by stunning views of Labrador Park and Keppel Bay, the hotels are expected to attract both overseas and local visitors.

The Beach Villas offer 22 one- to four-bedroom private chalets, the most luxurious being The Palace, a two-storey villa which features four bedrooms and costs S$15,000 a night.

Meanwhile, the seven-storey 172-room Equarius Hotel comprises six suites, 30 garden rooms and 136 deluxe rooms, with rates starting from S$800 per night.

Around 4,000 trees have been planted within the vicinity of the hotels to create a 'close-to-nature experience'.

"We set out to create a tropical garden of peace and tranquillity that rejuvenates the senses. Upon arrival, guests will feel like they are entering a different world, as they are greeted by a splendid avenue of trees on both sides," said Tsuyoshi Narita, Senior Associate of Peridian Asia, the firm responsible for the landscape design of the two hotels.
