Ryan Reynolds unveils hilarious “Deadpool and Wolverine” popcorn bucket

Titillated by the "Dune 2" sandworm container? You ain't seen nothing yet.

Dune began this war, but Ryan Reynolds isn't backing down from it. Following the popularity of the Dune: Part Two custom popcorn bucket (which was shaped like the gaping jaws of a sandworm), Reynolds unveiled Deadpool and Wolverine's own bucket on Thursday.

"Years from now they will look back at 2024 as the year the War of the Popcorn Buckets began," Reynolds wrote in the caption to the video posted on his official YouTube page.

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige teased that the bucket would be "intentionally crude and lewd" at CinemaCon, and now we get to see it for ourselves.

Similar to the Dune bucket, the top of the Deadpool and Wolverine popcorn container is shaped like a mouth — Wolverine's mouth, that is. If you've ever wanted to shove your hand down the clawed mutant's throat...well, now's your chance.

"I think it is inspired and the world doesn't know how badly it needs this, but they're about to," Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy told Entertainment Weekly at CinemaCon last month.

Reynolds added, "there's some involvement [by me], but yeah, very excited about it. It's a minor note in our marketing tapestry, but I think that's going to be fun."

Deadpool and Wolverine, the only official Marvel Cinematic Universe film of 2024, and also the first film in the franchise to officially feature X-Men characters in prominent roles since Disney bought Fox, following years of teases like Patrick Stewart's cameo as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels' post-credits scene.

In addition to Reynolds and Jackman, Deadpool and Wolverine also features Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova and Succession star Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Paradox. The film is set to hit theaters on July 26, just in time for San Diego Comic Con.
