Ryan Sutter says he and wife Trista Sutter are "great" while also revealing she's "inaccessible" to her family right now.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, May 18, featuring a black-and-white photo of himself outdoors, the former reality TV star, 49, wrote: "Trista is fine. We are fine. We’re great."

"Trista is at a place in life where she is searching a bit," he continued. "An opportunity presented itself that may help her on that quest. With her family’s support, she has taken it. Part of that process means that she is temporarily inaccessible to us."

"I miss her. We miss her," Ryan concluded.

On Saturday, he also wrote an emotional message in a post featuring a black-and-white photo of the couple posing together.

"I really wish I could talk to you. Ask you how you’re doing? How was your day," he wrote. "I’d really like to hear your voice — just for a minute. So many times I’ve called without much to say, not realizing how lucky I was or how much I’d miss the opportunity if it were gone."

It's unclear where Trista is right now, but in one of his posts on Saturday, Ryan said he writes what he feels and didn't mean to "deceive or mislead anyone" with previous posts.

The former firefighter met Trista, 51, while filming season 1 of The Bachelorette, which aired in 2003, and the pair married in December of that year in a televised special. They recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary and share two children, son Maxwell, 16, and daughter Blakesley, 14.

Less than a week before Ryan's most recent Instagram posts, he posted a series of photos on Instagram for Mother's Day on May 12, in which he revealed that Trista was spending the day away from him and her children.

"They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. I can think of only a handful of days I have not, at minimum, spoken to this incredible woman," read the caption of the first post, a photo of Trista's back. "She is the love of my life and my best friend. I cannot imagine loving her any more or any more fondly. But I guess we’re gonna find out… I miss her already."

He tagged his wife in the first post and wrote, "#love" and "#nowomannocry."

"Thinking of and rooting for this friend so much right now! 👊🏻❤️,' fellow Bachelor Nation star Molly Mesnick wrote in the comments of that post.

Ryan also posted a black-and-white photo of the whole family on the same day, writing about how strong Trista was to be away from her kids on Mother's Day. Trista commented on that post with emojis.

The couple was last seen in public together in January, when they made a rare appearance with their kids at the Golden Bachelor wedding of Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist.
