Rylan Clark jokes he’s "worn worse" as he shares costume for new acting role

Rylan Clark has unveiled his costume for his new panto role – and joked that he's "worn worse".

The TV presenter and singer is set to get his "first taste of panto life" for a production of Jack and the Beanstalk in Southend later this year.

Taking to his Instagram account yesterday (July 1), Rylan shared a behind-the-scenes clip of his costume for the production.

"I'm so excited because I'm going to be playing Spirit of the Beans in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Cliffs Pavilion this Christmas in Southend," he told followers.

"Today is the day where I get my outfit on. It's my first taste of panto life. And yeah, I mean I've worn worse," he further joked, adding at the end of the video: "See you at Christmas… I need to try and get out of this [costume]!"

Rylan wrote in the caption: "So this is happening this Xmas at @southendtheatres thrilled to team up with @xroads_live to bring Jack and the beanstalk to Southend. Come join the fun xx www.trafalgartickets.com."

Fans have shared their excitement in the comments to see Rylan's panto turn, with Sky News' Beth Rigby writing: "OMG I'm going to come and watch."

"Ready to slay awww this outfit is magical enjoy it," added Jedward, while another follower said: "Can’t wait you will be brilliant Rylan so excited xxx."

Rylan recently treated fans to another new look in recent days, with the star sharing a "reset" hair colour that shows off his more natural hair.

"Stripped colour from my hair to give it a reset. For anyone wondering this is what I look like with no colour in and no make uppppp," he wrote.

Meanwhile, Rylan recently opened up about the difference between his TV persona and real personality on Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour.

"I’m very much two people, so everyone knows me as Rylan – has a laugh, big teeth, wears a bit of makeup – a lot of make up – and is just that presenter off the telly, or that idiot off the telly," he said.

"Whereas actually at home, I’m Ross. Ross is who I grew up as. Rylan’s my job. Ross is the one that sits at home with a tracksuit and a Peroni in my hand, so I am very different."
