Sabrina Carpenter responds after Adele declares Espresso 'my jam' during Las Vegas residency
Sabrina Carpenter has responded to Adele saying she she is a big fan of the singer and her UK number 1 hit, Espresso.
Adele, 36, revealed her love of Carpenter, 25, during her Las Vegas residency, Weekends With Adele, on Sunday.
In video that has since gone viral, the 16-time Grammy Award winner took a break from her setlist to heap praise on the American songstress explaining how she returned to her hotel late after one of her shows and found herself singing the lyrics to the pop star’s hit.
She told the audience: “As I got into bed last night - because that's a very late night to me, I'm normally in bed by 9 pm - I found myself singing, ‘I'm working late, ‘cause I'm a singer.’
“That Sabrina Carpenter song, ‘I can't relate, to desperation...’, that song is my jam!
“It came out when I couldn't sing. So, all last night that's all I've been singing.”
The Feather singer, who previously opened for Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour, admitted she couldn't believe the acclaimed artist knew who she was and quickly retweeted an article sharing the moment.
She joked on X, formerly Twitter: “All I read was Adele thinks about me in bed <3.”
The former Disney actress also re-shared a clip to her Instagram and wrote: “Um guys can someone check on me”.

After sharing the social media posts, Carpenter was inundated with comments from fans, who wrote “Adele really is like all of us”.
One fan shared online: “You know you’ve made it when Adele has your song stuck in your head.”
“I love how Adele gives props to other artists so freely,” another wrote. “She’s a girls' girl.”
“Adele is my spirit animal tbh,” a third added.
Adele’s seal of approval for the track no doubt meant a lot to Carpenter who used to post Adele covers to YouTube when she was just nine-years-old.
Not long after that, she signed her first record deal at the tender age of 12. The performer came to notoriety on Disney Channel's Girl Meets World.
2024 is proving to be her year thus far, after she earned her first UK number one earlier this month.
