When it rains, it pours a whole bunch of new album releases from the big guns of Pinoy music.

Following the recent release of Color It Red’s crowdfunded “Silver” album and Imago’s “Kapit,” their first fronted by new vocalist Mayumi Gomez, more new stuff is seeing the light of day.

This Saturday night alone, July 5, three albums are being launched simultaneously in the metro, while Wilabaliw is set to unveil theirs next Saturday, July 12.

Brat Pack debut

At The Roadhouse Manila Bay at the Mall of Asia in Pasay, jazz-blues fusionists The Brat Pack are unveiling their debut album ”Brattitude!”

The country’s representative to the 30th International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee held in January, The Brat Pack is made up of pianist RJ Pineda and bassist David de Koenigswarter, recent recruit Allan Abdulla on drums, and vocalist Christine Mercado.

Their album consists of 8 tracks and will be sold for P250 during the launch (regular price: P350).

Kjwan’s EP series

Back in the burrow at SaGuijo in Makati, Kjwan is releasing "Kjwan IV Volume II," the second volume of their three-part EP series, Kjwan 4, a project they unveiled during their 10th year anniversary in 2013 .

Always tough and compelling and hands-down one of the best bands that played at the 7107 Music Festival earlier this year, the band has set a two-part 2-part launch. Aside from SaGuijo, a second launch is set on July 19 at 12 Monkeys at Century Mall, Kalayaan Avenue in Makati.

Playing with Kjwan at SaGuijo are Basti Artadi of Wolfgang, Tirso Ripoll of Razorback and Miki Hahn.

Sago’s ‘Itlog’

Finally, at 19 East in Sucat, Radioactive Sago Project is unveiling “Ang Itlog at ang Demonyo,” the jazz-rock-punk-spoken word band’s new album in 7 years.

What took them so long?

“Hindi ko alam. Busy kaming lahat,” frontman Lourd de Veyra told Coconuts Manila.

He also described the album thus: “Mas maikikli ang mga songs, mas konting solohan. Merong disco, merong drum and bass, yung first song. May samba. Merong tungkol kay Rizal. Merong punk, jazz, usual spoken word chuchu.”
