It's that time of year again: Samsung just held its annual summer Galaxy Unpacked event and with it comes a whole new lineup of devices. This time seven brand-new products have been announced.

Two of the best smartphones with foldable displays have been upgraded — the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6. Two new pairs of true wireless earbuds are about to hit shelves – the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro.

In the wearable department, the highly anticipated Galaxy Ring has been unveiled, a discreet little gizmo that looks like jewellery but actually tracks your health metrics. And last but not least, Samsung has launched two new smartwatches — the Galaxy Watch7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra.

That's a lot of information in one launch event, so here's a summary of everything Samsung has just announced, and what's new about it.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6

The biggest of Samsung's folding smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 is launching with an even bigger screen and yet a more lightweight build than before, and it has a new set of AI-powered features that bring it up to speed with Samsung's flagship S24 series devices.

The Fold6 looks like a regular smartphone from the outside and unfolds into a mini tablet. The outside screen is 6.3-inches (1mm bigger than the Fold5) and the internal display is now 7.6-inches (2.7mm bigger than before). Despite both the screens being bigger, the device is actually 14g lighter than the fifth generation of the phone.

But where the Fold gets really clever is with its AI software:

You can use the included S Pen to highlight on-screen content and search for it online in a feature called Circle to Search.

Sketch to Image lets you draw on a photo and then AI will transform it into a realistic-looking object.

Browsing Assist summarises web pages or articles on the side of the screen. Transcribe Assist transcribes any and all audio content into your Samsung notes.

There's a new Translate Conversation Mode where you can have the phone partially folded and it'll translate your speech in real-time on both sides, displaying the message on the other side to the person in their language and vice versa.

The Google Gemini app is fully integrated, using the words "Hey Google" or by swiping from the corner of the screen, you can pull up an overlay to use as you browse the phone to get help with writing and learning as you go. The list of cool features seems endless!

To allow for all of those smarts, the device has a new upgraded top-of-the-line processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy with 12GB of RAM and a choice of 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of internal storage.

The Samsung Galaxy ZFold6 will be available for pre-order from Samsung on July 10 and will be on sale from July 24, starting from £1,799.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 is a tiny palm-sized device that opens into a regular smartphone, modernising the Noughties flip phone with the latest foldable display innovations.

When I reviewed the Z Flip5, I loved the design and the 3.4-inch size of the FlexWindow display on the outside, but the camera system wasn't quite on par with regular slate smartphones. Samsung has finally given it a refresh for the sixth generation with a new 50MP main lens that has a bigger sensor and better low-light performance.

There are some cool new camera features added to the mix as well, like Auto Zoom so when you prop the phone up and stand away from the camera it'll readjust the framing of the shot for the best possible picture.

You'll also now get camcorder grip adjustments, you'll be able to hold the phone by one half and film video from the other with it folded in the shape of a camcorder. Another cool extra is the fact that you can now use Night Mode in the Instagram camera, you don't need to flick between camera apps to get the best shots.

Longevity has been extended thanks to seven years of software updates and feature drops, new IP48 water and dust resistance, a 10% stronger Armour Aluminium frame, a more resistant Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass and a reduced crease in the main display. There's a bigger 4,000mAh battery than before too.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 will be available to pre-order from Samsung on July 10 and to buy from July 24, starting from £1,049.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro

Next up are Samsung's new true wireless earbuds which have had a complete design overhaul. The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 and Buds 2 Pro were small rounded buds that you twist into your ear, but the latest models have a new stem design, making them look a lot more like Apple AirPods.

The Galaxy Buds 3 have an open design resting on the outer part of your ear, while the Buds 3 Pro have a silicone tip that you push into the ear canal. Both have a futuristic blade lighting system that shows you when they're turned on and when they're in pairing mode. You can also choose to have the lights switched on because it looks cool, if you want. Both models are IP57 water and dust-resistant.

One of the features that sets these both apart from other AirPods alternatives (except the Google Pixel Buds) is the Interpreter mode which translates your surroundings straight into your ear!

Another cool feature is Voice Command which allows you to control the music by voice without touching the earbuds.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 will set you back £159 and the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro will cost £219 from Samsung. They will be available to buy in silver and white.

Samsung Galaxy Ring

For a long time, we have been teased with a new wearable coming to Samsung's portfolio and it has finally come to fruition.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is a piece of jewellery that doubles up as a 24/7 fitness tracker. It comes housed in a jewellery box-style charging case with nine different available ring sizes and three colours, silver, gold and black. The concave design is scratch-resistant and IP69 water-resistant up to 100m deep. Weighing between 2.3g and 3g, and measuring 7mm wide and 2.6mm thick, it's surprisingly stylish given how much tech is packed in.

It packs a huge seven-day battery life, sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, activity tracking, and even a skin temperature sensor. It'll use the data to calculate your sleep score and energy score to provide personalised tips on how to improve them. Not only that but it can use the data to let you know when you're most fertile, and it'll tell you when you've been inactive for too long.

If you have a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, you will be able to use it for smart gestures as well, so you can snap a photo by double-pinching your fingers. Find My Ring will be available through the SmartThings Find app as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring will be available on July 24 from Samsung for £399 with no hidden subscription costs.

Samsung Galaxy Watch7 and Watch Ultra

The Galaxy Ring isn't the only wearable that was launched at the latest Samsung event. There are also two new smartwatches, the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch7 is a smartwatch for all occasions, it's stylish and comes in two sizes and a couple of colourways, 40mm in cream and green or 44mm in green or silver. It has Samsung's first 3nm watch processor, its first dual-frequency GPS, an enhanced bioactive sensor and more LEDs for better tracking accuracy. It features an ECG blood pressure sensor and it can measure your body composition as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is a rugged watch for more extreme conditions. It will survive being submerged in water up to 100m, it will survive extreme temperatures from -20 degrees right up to 55 degrees, and it will survive going down to -500m up to 9000m. The round screen is placed on a square plate to protect it from damage and it's cushioned for added comfort.

The Ultra display boats a huge 3,000 nits so you can see it in all conditions and there's a night mode on the watch face too. You can track your activities and run them sequentially, like if you were taking part in a multi-sport activity like a triathlon or Iron Man, and during workouts, you'll be able to race against your past performance in real-time.

You'll be able to buy the Galaxy Watch Ultra in one 47mm size, and in a choice of three colours, Titanium Grey, Titanium White, and Titanium Silver.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch7 will be available to buy from July 24. It'll cost £289 for the BT model, or £339 with LTE.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra will be available at the same time for £599 from Samsung.
