Sasha Colby's “Drag Race” is here! Season 15 winner launches drag competition for new tour

Sasha has been God, ponytail mogul, and a White House speaker all across the last year — now, EW exclusively reveals her new competition for artists looking to join her tour.

Sasha Colby's Drag Race is no longer a far-off dream, but a reality whipped down to Earth from the tips of Sasha's ponytail in the heavens above.

EW can exclusively reveal that the RuPaul's Drag Race season 15 winner will launch a new competition to find local drag artists to accompany her on her upcoming 22-date Sasha Colby: Stripped tour throughout 2024.

Beginning today at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, Sasha will post a video on her socials calling for all up-and-coming drag performers in each of the tour's cities to submit short audition videos "showcasing who they are as a performer and what they'd bring to the show," according to an official summary of the initiative. Sasha leaves the interpretation of that standard up to potential contestants, and will choose her personal top-three finalists from each city after submissions close on Dec. 4.

"My drag career would not have been possible without the drag community supporting me and lifting me up along the way. So many people have blessed me with opportunities throughout my career, so I am thrilled to now be able to offer an opportunity to other performers through this tour," Sasha says in an exclusive statement to EW. "I can't wait to see the many ways in which people express themselves and their art through these submissions, and to support rising talent across the country! This is going to be amazing."

The idea for the show is to make it "accessible for all performers and really get their local communities behind them," a representative for Sasha adds of the fan-voting element, which opens to the public to select their favorites from Dec. 4-11 via a planned Google form, with two winners being announced per week beginning in February 2024.

Already a seasoned entertainer, winner of the prestigious Miss Continental drag pageant, star of Sasha Velour's NightGowns TV series, and long-standing trans and queer activist upon joining Drag Race season 15, Sasha quickly rose to the top of the pack across the MTV competition series, thanks to her performance as God in an acting challenge, her impeccably performed mid-season lip-sync against Anetra, and her jaw-dropping, nearly nude number during the Grand Finale.

"It was a specific choice to be naked in these times. I wanted them to see what they're trying to eradicate," Sasha told EW during her coronation interview in April, later adding: "I get the reward of having my life goal accomplished, but this has been bigger than me at this point, in this political climate. I told myself, while doing the finale, that this wasn't trying to win, this was me showing these people that want to silence us and put us down and — for lack of better words — say 'f--- you' to all of them."

Following her Drag Race victory, Sasha lent her voice to philanthropic causes, including calling for widespread assistance during the Hawaii wildfires in her home state, as well as speaking at the White House in June to oversee Vice President Kamala Harris' official Pride Month celebration.
