Saturday Night Takeaway prank guest has fans in stitches
Fans of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway were left reeling thanks to a guest in one segment.
In tonight’s episode (March 4), the hosting duo tinkered with a self check-in service at a hotel, pranking customers as they sought to retrieve the key card for their room.
As the guests approached the terminal, the pair were concealed in another room as they spoke through the microphone, telling the guests to follow specific requests for their own amusement.

One guest, Ernest, didn’t exactly play by the rules, as he began tampering with the machine itself. After breaking the microphone, Dec said: “Watch us wreck the mic – psyche", a reference to the duo’s song ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rumble’.
After taking a selection of complimentary items and refusing to touch a sausage from the drawer, Ernest had Ant & Dec in stitches when they revealed themselves as the orchestrators of the prank.
“This is a bit downmarket for you lads, isn’t it?” he quipped as they lowered the window. “How the mighty have fallen,” he added.
It wasn’t just the hosts who were in stitches, with several users on social media expressing their enthusiasm for Ernest’s role.

“I’m declaring Ernest a national treasure and he must be protected at all costs. #SaturdayNightTakeaway,” wrote one user, whilst another asked: “Anyone else wanna go to the pub for a pint with Ernest? #SaturdayNightTakeaway”
“Ernest is my spirit animal bless his heart he’s so lovely,” wrote one user, whilst several believed that he should have been given a spot on the plane at the end of the episode.
Elsewhere in the episode, Ant & Dec shared their murder-mystery skit, Murder at Bigwig Manor, which starred several other presenters such as Davina McCall and Stephen Mulhern.
Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway airs on Saturday nights from 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
