I Saw the TV Glow has landed a UK release date months after it hit cinemas in the US.

The queer horror from writer and director Jane Schoenbrun is coming to screens across the UK and Ireland from July 26, distributor Park Circus Films announced in a post on Twitter/X.

Starring Dungeons & Dragons' Justice Smith and Atypical's Brigette Lundy-Paine, I Saw the TV Glow focuses on Owen and Maddy, two teenagers who bond over their shared love of a TV show called The Pink Opaque.

As they become nostalgic about the series, Maddy and Owen discuss their sexuality and life experiences with one another.

However, the show is abruptly cancelled and Maddy disappears suddenly – reemerging in Owen's life several years later with information that could leave him questioning his sense of reality.

The movie premiered at Sundance Film Festival earlier in the year, and was produced by Emma Stone and her husband Dave McCary via their Fruit Tree production company.

Alongside Smith and Lundy-Paine, the cast also features Helena Howard, Lindsey Jordan, Conner O'Malley, Emma Portner, Ian Foreman, Danielle Deadwyler and Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst in supporting roles.

I Saw the TV Glow is Schoenbrun's second feature-length movie following the acclaimed coming-of-age film We're All Going to the World's Fair, which debuted at Sundance in 2021 to positive reviews and also dealt with queer themes.

Earlier this month, Schoenbrun revealed in an interview with The New Yorker that their third film will be a slasher called Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.

The lengthy title refers to the story of a queer director who becomes obsessed with casting the perfect star for a movie's 'Final Girl' role.

I Saw the TV Glow will be released in cinemas in UK and Ireland on July 26.
