An East Yorkshire primary school is celebrating after improving its rating from requires improvement to outstanding.

Gilberdyke Primary School was praised for its outcomes for all its pupils, including those with special needs or disabilities.

The inspection by Ofsted, in May, saw the primary rated as outstanding in all five areas. Inspectors said children benefited from "warm and caring relationships" and a "high quality curriculum".

The school has been approached for comment.

The school is part of Hull Collaborative Academy Trust.

When it was last inspected in November 2021, it received a requires improvement rating based on the quality of education.

This time, inspectors said many pupils "achieve better in national tests than other children nationally".

The report also noted that "wide-ranging opportunities beyond the classroom" helped pupils to "flourish".

Concluding the report, inspectors said the school's progress since the last inspection was "clear", and that "staff and leaders at all levels are extremely proud of their school."
