Sea foam blankets beach in Scotland as Storm Babet brings powerful winds

Sea foam covered a beach in Aberdeenshire, Scotland on Thursday, 19 October, as Storm Babet brought high winds and “unprecedented” flooding.

A new red warning for rain, meaning there is a risk to life, has been issued by the Met Office for parts of eastern Scotland all day on Saturday.

The warning comes as a second person has died after Storm Babet hit Scotland.

A falling tree hit a van near Forfar in Angus on Thursday evening, killing a 56-year-old driver, Police Scotland said.

A 57-year-old woman also died on Thursday after being swept into a river in the county.
