Comedian Jerry Seinfeld has teased a revival for his comedy series Seinfeld.

The sitcom, which originally ran from 1989 to 1998 for nine seasons, ended after nearly 200 episodes with a controversial two-part finale that saw Seinfeld and co. wind up in prison after unknowingly violating a local law.

If you're one of the viewers that wasn't satisfied with Seinfeld's ending, then you're in luck; the show's creator and titular comic has revealed that he has a "little secret" – and that “something is going to happen that has to do with that ending".

Seinfeld touched on the matter during a stand-up comedy set on Saturday (7 October), which was captured and posted to Instagram by film producer Linda Pizzuti Henry.

“It hasn’t happened yet,” the comic said. "And just what you are thinking about, Larry and I have also been thinking about, so you’ll see… you’ll see.”

Seinfeld didn't make any more comments on the matter, leaving the crowd applauding with excitement.

Co-star Julia Louis-Dreyfus has already commented on the rumour in an interview with The Guardian – though it's not the best news.

"Yeah, I just saw [the news] last night,” she said. “And I don’t know what the hell he’s talking about.”

Seinfeld has previously expressed regret over the show's ending at a panel event in October of 2017, at the New Yorker festival.

“I sometimes think we really shouldn’t have even done it,” he said. “There was a lot of pressure on us at that time to do one big last show, but big is always bad in comedy.”
