“Severance” Debuts Its First Season 2 Footage Showing Adam Scott Running Through the Halls of Lumon: 'Welcome Back!'

Severance is coming back for another season, and Apple TV+ just released the long-awaited first look!

With season 1 ending on a cliffhanger, fans of the award-winning show finally have a peak at what is to come for Lumon Industries. Although just a few seconds, the clip shows Adam Scott as Mark Scout laying on the office conference table before trying to escape after season 1 left him and his coworkers on a mission to unveil Lumon’s secrets.

Another brief clip shows Mark being greeted by Seth Milchick (Tramell Tillman), the supervisor on the severed floor at Lumon. He tells him "Welcome back! Been a minute!"

Apple TV+ and Scott also posted a photo on Instagram of his character standing in the stark white Lumon hallways holding a cluster of blue balloons.

The sci-fi series is about people who join an experiment to sever their personas between their work life — known as their “innie” — and the real world — their “outie.”

While Mark opts in as an effort to cope with the death of his wife, he grows suspicious after the mysterious disappearance of his best friend and former Lumon employee Petey. After teaming up with new hire Helly (Britt Lower) and other coworkers Dylan (Zach Cherry) and Irving (John Turturro), season 1 shows them begin to uncover the company’s web of conspiracies.

Viewers have been eager to get a first look since the second season was confirmed in April 2022.

​​“It’s really exciting to see the response from people who are loving the show — and the level of fan engagement,” director and executive producer Ben Stiller said in a press release. “It has been a long road bringing Severance to television. I first read Dan’s pilot over five years ago. It has always been a multi-season story, and I’m really happy we get to continue it.”

Filming began that year but was halted due to the writers strike, and it took two years before Scott confirmed the season had wrapped in April 2024.

"Our core cast is unbelievable already, but we have some just great people coming in for season two that I can't wait for everyone to see," he said.

In October 2022, Deadline reported that season 2 would welcome eight new cast members, including English actress Gwendoline Christie, best known for Game of Thrones and Wednesday, and Merritt Wever of Nurse Jackie and Godless.

Actor and writer Bob Balaban (Waiting for Guffman, The French Dispatch), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development, Search Party), Robby Benson (Ice Castles, Beauty and the Beast), Stefano Carannante (Mirabilia), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist, Trapped) and John Noble (Fringe, Elementary) will also appear.
